100 years ago humanity lost Earth. An ancient threat, more advanced and terrifying than we could've imagined, took it without much of a fight.
The few lucky ones to survive the attack fled Sol for the outer colonies, in hopes the aliens wouldn't follow.
We rebuilt from the ground up. We prepared ourselves for a foe that never came, intent on not losing our new home the way we lost our last.
A century of peace couldn't prepare us for what they had in store. An attack so fierce it threatens to throw once powerful alliances into perpetual war.
New Earth, and humanity's only hope falls on the shoulders of an aging captain, his rookie crew, and the untested NECS Endeavor.

Endeavor The Mythrar War Book 1 eBook Douglas Wayne Luke Simms
A fairly good story that was not without a few issues. The major problem lay in the multiple proof-reading issues, the author's occasional inability to differentiate between past/present tense - for example, using were instead of was, had instead of have, etc - and missed/wrong words. While I found these issues a problem and interfered with the flow of the story, I still remained engaged with the story overall. The dialogue between characters was well done for the most part but the characters did lack some depth. The fighter battles between friend and foe were well described but when the author shifted focus to the larger battles between warships I felt less engaged with what was occurring - just not enough description to draw me into the action. That said, there is also a lot to like about Endeavor - the action is solid, there is some intrigue and a few unexpected twists, the characters while lacking some depth were good, the plot is interesting and I hope the author will be doing a little more on the backstory of how Earth was over-run by the alien Mythrar as well as the mass exodus to New Earth. Overall, while the book has its flaws, I still feel like I want to invest in buying the next book just to see what happens next :)

Endeavor The Mythrar War Book 1 eBook Douglas Wayne Luke Simms Reviews
Very poor editing makes the story difficult to understand.
Although I also noticed the need for more editing (as mentioned by others) I 100% would buy it again if I needed too. I'm looking forward to the next two to see where the story takes us.
Read it. Author needs more editing skills but it's plot and action are great.
Suggest you read it and you will not be,disappointed.
I'm not much for reviews. Short and sweet is the way to go. This is going to be a series that will keep you coming back for more.
This book caught my attention and kept it at a time i was getting bored sitting around recuperating. Thank you Douglas Wayne.
I enjoyed this book, flaws and all. I felt that the character development left something to be desired. You are introduced to a character, and that is really all you ever learn about them, their motivations, desires. They don't move forward from there. Some of the surrounding details are a little strange. As an example, the mention of 'plaster and drywall' in bridge debris, on a star ship. It was $3, and it did move, was fun at times.
I have been reading SiFi books since the 1960s. This book is actually very good reading.
After reading the stated flaws in the first review, I took a chance and I'm glad I did. Worth the effort.
